A little Hembree History. The Hembree Farm, circa, 1835, is an ongoing project of the Roswell Historical Society (Society).  The Society continues working in order to preserve a portion of the original Hembree farmstead, one of the oldest in north Fulton County, Amariah Hembree and his son, Elihu Hembree, were pioneer settlers in the 1830s on land once occupied by Cherokee farmers. The Hembree grew cotton for the old Roswell Manufacturing Company, and, along with other early settlers, organized the Lebanon Baptist Church at their farmhouse in 1835. After eight generations of family ownership, the farmhouse, detached kitchen, two corn cribs, and one acre of land were gifted to the Society by a family descendant. This one acre of land and structures adjoins what became the subdivision of Hembree Grove.

 

Now a little more about Hembree Grove!

 

In 1993, Mill Grove, Inc. developed the land next to Hembree Farm, now known as the wonderful sought after neighborhood in which to live, Hembree Grove. In January 1998 responsibility for the management of the Hembree Grove Community Association, Inc. was passed from the developer to the homeowners.

 

Hembree Grove located in North Fulton County is a family-oriented, covenant controlled community of 173 homes in Roswell, GA.  Amenities include a pool house, swimming pool, 2 lighted tennis courts, gazebo, playground, and cabana. Tennis courts provide an atmosphere for active recreational and league play, with the pool and clubhouse amenities providing active community social events.  And for the little ones, a  children's playground.

 

Excellent schools service Hembree Grove including Hembree Springs, Elkins Pointe Middle School, and Milton High School – just 10 minutes to major north south highway and Georgia’s top shopping malls. More than 50 parks and recreational facilities are within 10 miles of our community.

 

Hembree has an active architectural control committee that oversees the updates to design of all custom homes in this prestigious community.
